Eleanor Vance, a textile artist emerging from the vibrant Northern Quarter, specialises in intricate embroidery that captures the ever-evolving soul of Manchester. Her design philosophy revolves around transforming ordinary urban landscapes into dynamic, wearable art. For this collaboration, Eleanor drew inspiration from forgotten Victorian-era patterns found in the city's old mills, reinterpreting them with a modern, almost abstract, twist. Her process involves hand-sketching motifs directly from architectural elements, then meticulously translating them into vibrant threadwork, ensuring each stitch tells a part of Manchester's story. We showcase her signature 'Millbrook' pattern on our bespoke silk scarves.

Leo Finch: Echoes of Industrial Heritage

Leo Finch, a graphic designer and printmaker, brings bold, geometric precision to the collective. His work often explores the stark beauty of Manchester's industrial past, from its iconic brickwork to intricate machinery diagrams. For Hearth & Stitch, Leo developed a series of abstract prints inspired by blueprints of Victorian textile looms, creating patterns that are both homage and contemporary statement. His design process begins with historical research, followed by digital rendering to refine shapes and proportions, culminating in limited-run screen prints applied to our organic cotton tote bags and pocket squares. Each piece reflects a segment of Manchester's innovation.
